YWCA South Florida announces two new additions to leadership team

Miami, Fla. – YWCA South Florida has announced an update to its leadership team with the addition of two new members: Jose Filpo, vice president of community programs, and Angeline Evans, vice president of mission advancement. The two members officially assumed their positions with YWCA in September.In their new roles, Evans will oversee the development of mission advancement initiatives while providing project management and strategic leadership for cross-departmental campaigns within the organization, while Filpo will be responsible for the development, advancement and support of the nonprofit’s programs and initiatives serving the South Florida community.“We are grateful to welcome these incredible members into our organization,” says Kerry-Ann Royes, YWCA South Florida's president and CEO. “Both Angeline and Jose are preceded by reputations of excellence and results. I am excited to see how these leaders continue to elevate our organization’s impact in the community.”Before joining YWCA, Evans served as the chief operating officer of Suited for Success/Dress for Success Miami, where she managed daily operations for the countywide economic empowerment nonprofit. She grew the organization’s team and client base while launching several services, including the veterans program, mobile career center, and virtual services, among other achievements. Prior to that, Evans served as digital media manager for Florida International University, freelance writer and editor, and communications manager and editor for the Foundation for California Community Colleges.Filpo comes to YWCA after 11 years with Florida International University (FIU), first as the assistant director for pre-collegiate programs, and most recently as director of educational talent search. During his time with the university, he was responsible for the design and implementation of academic and career enrichment programs, which led to a 99% high school graduation rate and 96% post-secondary attainment rate for students served. Prior to FIU, Filpo served as a college-bound director for Breakthrough Miami and an administrator for Life Skills Center. He previously held roles within The Albert G.
